Not Our Usual April Fools Day.....

This is what we awoke to this morning..... we joked that Great Grandma sent it just for Ella. You see, we had originaly planned to go to Utah this week, being our Spring Break...so Ella could meet her Great Grandma Goff, and Great Grandpa Nielsen.  When Arlene took a turn for the worse, Tyler's dad let us know we might just want to hold off, so we didn't have 2 trips back to back to Utah. Ella of course, in her stubborn fashion, exclaimed every hour of our drive down, that she wanted SNOW!  So since Ella never had the chance to meet her, it was our way taking it as a gift of sorts, sent from Arlene to Ella from Heaven.
The great-grandkids (1/2 of them, the girls anyway) rehearsing to sing at the funeral...
The other 1/2......they did such a beautiful job too. The grandkids & their spouses sang as well...what a beautiful posterity.  Bevan's 3 sisters gave talks. They were really nice - we especially liked Aunt Charrisse's talk - she did a great job.
On our way to the grave-side service.  The day we arrived in Utah, the sky was brown....smog & dust everywhere....not something we thought Great Grandma would have liked the day of her funeral. The snow was never-ending, but it made the day so beautiful & clean.  Something we thought Great Grandma would have liked a lot, especially because she didn't have to be cold in it! :)
So many beautiful flowers, and our huge family just doesn't fit under that tent. Thank goodness Ella & I had our boots for this.
I debated whether or not I should take this picture...but it explains  the conditions of the day so well. Tyler & Bret were pall bearers, Zach was one of the honorary pall bearers.
From the grandkids and great grandkids....
Arlene's kids....Gayla, Charrisse, Wendy, Barry, & Bevan
She is now with her eternal companion, Great Grandpa Goff - I bet it was such a happy day for them to be reunited! Charrisse shared a conversation she had with Great Grandma, before she passed.  Arlene was worried that Garn wouldn't want her anymore because she had let her hair go white....so sweet! Charrisse assured her that he would, that he probably had white hair now too!
By the end of the service, the flowers were covered!
Our family...what a happy & sad day all in one. We will miss her very much, but are so happy that she is with Garn again. I am so grateful to be a part of this wonderful family!
