Reading Books

In our family, Zach is a brain.......school is very easy for him. He's quite brilliant actually. When kids in his class don't know how to spell a hard/big word & they ask the teacher, she tells them to ask Zach......and he's always right. He's our kid that in 1st grade was telling me in the car one day that "4x4 is 16 mom"........I replied, "I didn't know you knew multiplication!", he said, "what's that?".....his mind never stops. He taught himself division too....... man I wish I had his brain when I was in school!

Where this gets complicated at our house is that Braeden compares everything he can/can't do to what Zach does. Now, they are 2 1/2 years apart...we know he shouldn't be at the same level on things as Zach (especially when he's bright for his age), but try telling that to Braeden....he's doing great, in the top of his class actually, but he is so darn hard on himself! He reads chapter books, but gets frustrated easily....he's that kid that would rather just not try something, than try & fail.......homework is going to be fun in the years to come.........not!
So when moments like this come up.......we cherish them!
Connor & Ella each got a new book yesterday....baseball has started, & between Zach & Braeden both playing, & Tyler being the coach of Zach's team, we're at 5 days a week baseball.... Connor & Ella are so good in public, that giving them something they can do in the car is perfect....Connor brought his in so I could read it to him at bedtime....Brae read it to him & Ella instead......

so cute! My sibs and I loved reading books growing up! It sounds like they are really good with each other. Must have good parents or something like that :)
