Monster is Back!

I know most of you say, Ella is SOOO sweet & cute...but this past week, well - her alter -ego has returned..........this is what I get when I asked her if I could take her picture at Zach's game on the 14th......"NO!" & pouty lips....Zach played great, had an awesome hit, was safe at first & rounding back when the 1st baseman finally caught the ball & called him out......really really bad call - even the other team thought so.....
Tyler's done a great job this season with these boys - their team made the playoffs, finishing the season out in 2nd place! Tonight is the first game of the playoffs, but one of their great pitchers decided to go to Hawaii..........so they're down a strong player..........we'll see how it goes......

To top it off, Zach had a REALLY hard decision to make.... their school district holds a "Battle of the Books" competition every year. The kids are given a list of books to read, then they form teams of 4 & compete answering questions about the books. This is totally voluntary. Zach read all the books last year, then we ended up being at Great Wolf when the school level competition was held, so he missed it. So this year, he was really excited to actually compete. Turns out, not all the kids read all the books, so Zach was the only one to read 5 of them....

Their team won the first round 2wks ago, then won overall for their school last week!!! WooHoo Zach! Then we find out that the District Competition is TONIGHT....the exact same time as his baseball playoffs game.......... He is SO torn! He's part of 2 teams, and feels like he's going to let someone down no matter what he does. If the Rangers weren't already down a player, I think he may have chose the Battle of the Books....but Zach is one of the teams pitchers & they need him. To top it off - the librarian at his school told him "your team will be disapointed in you if you don't do the Battle" - that made me so angry that an adult would put that kind of pressure on him! He's such a good kid, and this decision is already so hard on him! I asked him what he said back to her,......his response - "So would my baseball team".

So as of right now, he's decided that he's playing in the baseball game & praying for rain :).....that way, if it rains -they could have a rainout & he could compete in the Battle....... looking out the window though, it's sunny out......so we'll see how it goes!
Considering ALL the sports our kids do - when they're the ones on the sidelines, they're quite the troopers..........(I bring a LOT of snacks!).
