Christmas Day 2008

Christmas Day was so much fun!!! Our day started with Zach coming in at 630 asking if we could open presents...we told him to go back to be for just a little longer....at 7am we woke up Ella & headed downstairs. (Bad idea - we should have let Ella sleep - she was grumpy! The kids opened their stockings, Santa, & Tomten gifts first. I think they were very happy. Santa brought Ella a purse & she carries it around the house with her now, with a toy phone in it...and then gets my purse and wants me to carry mine too, saying "C-mon Mom!"

It was a perfect morning, after presents, we played some of the many Wii games we got, including Guitar Hero World Tour - Zach is really good at it and it is way too addicting! We had the Stevens & Woodworth families over for brunch, we missed having Reidun & Jon over - that darn snow!! I made a Kringle this year, usually we go to Ballard every year & buy one for Christmas morning...but again the snow. I think it turned out pretty good - tasted exactly the same, just a different type of dough...it was a Danish recipe & the one we buy is Norwegian, but it was great all the same.

That evening we had dinner at Tyler's parents with most of his family. We missed Char & Todd this year. The eveing was great, dinner was delicious, then we headed home...at least we tried.....

The snow was bad & had melted a little, so it was slush/snow/ice on the roads & we couldn't get our van up the hill in their neighborhood....Tyler tried half a dozen times, and we almost made it - until a rude driver headed down the hill, right at us! What is with crazy people! Then he had the nerve to yell at us!!! Oh well... we got it back to their street, parked it - with the help of Rod & Chance :>) - thanks guys! Even Taner offered to jump in and help. Ty's dad was so sweet & drove us home, so we didn't have to stay the night. Our van is still there, waiting for the snow to melt....we're going to go get it today (we bought chains just in case). Wish us luck!!

Zach & Braeden got these cool remote control vehicles from Grandma & Grandpa that can drive on snow/sand/dirt.... the boys tried them out the day after Christmas...after waiting patiently for them to charge all Christmas Day - they did pretty good, unless they hit ice - they don't like ice....they will be fun to take on our camping trips!
